Prayer of John Paul II for Life
O Mary,
bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living,
to you do we entrust the cause of life:
Look down, O Mother,
upon the vast numbers
of babies to be born,
of the poor whose lives are made difficult,
of men and women
who are victims of brutal violence,
of the elderly and the sick killed
by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son
may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love
to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace
to accept that Gospel
as a gift ever new,
the joy of celebrating it with gratitude
throughout their lives
and the courage to bear witness to it
resolutely, in order to build,
together with all people of good will,
the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God,
the Creator and lover of life.

Pope John Paul II
Encyclical Letter "The Gospel of Life"
Given in Rome, on March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, in the year 1995.

Prayer for Unborn Children

O God, our Heavenly Father, You sent Your Son into this world that He might Bless and Consecrate all life to You.
Your constant Love protected Him as the Ever Virgin Mary bore Him in Her womb for nine months.
In His mission He taught us the Greatness of Your Love and the Sanctity of Life.
We pray that we may always cherish the Life that You give us.
In a special way we ask and pray that You Grace and Protect all unborn children with Your ever caring Love.
We pray this in the Name of Jesus, Who is Lord, Forever and Ever. Amen.

Prayer to the Author of Life

Father of us all, Author of all life, I thank you for my life and the appreciation of it. Please help me to always respect the lives of all your children, from conception to natural death. Let your Spirit enlighten the minds and open the hearts of those who do not fully respect all human life according to your will. Where there is remorse, grant peace to all women and everyone affected by past abortions. Lighten the burdens of all women with problem pregnancies. Bring adoption of a Human Life Amendment soon. Thank you, Father. Amen

A Prayer for Pregnant Women

God our Father,
You were pleased to Bless the Virgin Mary with the gift of bringing Your Son into the world.
Graced with the Word of God within Her, She brought forth Your New and Eternal Life to all creation.
We pray You that as You guided Mary, protect and guide all women who carry new life within them.
May they be ever conscious of the great Dignity they have been given.
May they turn to You in constant prayer and be ever thankful of the Gift they carry within them.
We pray this in the name of Jesus, who is Lord of Life, now and forever. Amen.

Most Rev. Loius E. Gelineau, D, D.,
Bishop of Providence

Prayer For Mothers

Father in Heaven, we thank you for the gift of life.
Grant that all mothers who give birth may welcome their babies with love.
But if some mothers feel they are unable to raise their babies, grant that they may be compassionate toward the life which You have given and not destroy it before birth.
To those children who have been wantonly deprived of earthly life grant whatever happiness to which they are entitled, and to the mothers who have denied them life in this world, grant Your merciful grace of repentance and reconciliation with our Savior so that they may obtain eternal life in the next!

With ecclesiastical approval
Most Rev. Romeo R. Blanchette, D.D.

Prayer for Respect for all Human Life

Heavenly Father, your cosmic gaze focused on dust and you fashioned in your image and likeness every man and women: give us, we beg you, a keen eye to recognize that image so that respect for all human life becomes our way of life. Grant this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Prayer of Love and Life

Dear Lord, through Your Apostle, St. Paul, You've taught us that there are three great virtues, Faith, Hope and Love, but the greatest of all is Love. Help me to understand that in order to love You and to love my neightbor, I must be alive. Father, help me to value my life, and all life, and give me courage to respect, defend, and, if necesssary, die to protect the right of everyone to live as You will them to.
Amen.
